*Updated* 10.2.1 Released for Select T-Mobile USA Users

Users around the United States are seeing a 10.2.1 update push out from the Uncarrier T-mobile but it seems that this is an isolated event due to various models of T-Mobile capable BB10 devices. For instance there are T-Mobile specific Z10s STL100-3, Sub-Model RFF91LW) these devices are not seeing the 10.2.1 update.

However if you own a Z10 STL100-3, Sub model RFK121LW and have an active Tmo SIM you should be seeing the update via Link or OTA to your device.

We apologize about the confusion from the submodels in this release. Those who do have the RFK121Lw model, it seems your device must also be unlocked for the update to be pushed. BlackBerry gave out these models at BlackBerry media events but they were never official Tmo devices (only tmo compatible).

On the side of caution it’s always best to do a backup before jumping into any install. Check your updates within app settings and get the update for yourself but alas those who have purchased their device from Tmobile are not as of yet seeing the update. Word has that Tmo will push this officially mid February, or quite possibly early March.

Thanks Jon! @nerdologist_jon

You need to tell people this is NOT an offical T-Mo push and that if they load it they will kill wifi-calling. Dude.

OK, after reading various threads, this seems to be the deal: Some people on T-Mo (branded and possibly unbranded) were pushed the 10.2 update. It killed wifi-calling. Two sources to T-Mo tech report back they have zero idea about a 10.2 pushed at this date. So, if you want to use wifi-calling do not load this OS.

I have the RFK121LW and not seeing it. Those few who have say it kills wifi-calling.

    i dont see it ? :(

False. John did not buy his Z10 from T-Mobile. T-Mobile’s box is white and says T-Mobile on it. Jon’s box is black and doesn’t say T-Mobile. Please stop falsely creating hope for other Z10 and Q10 users and retract this article.

WOW! I did not expect to see an update this morning when I woke up. Kudos for jumping on this so quickly, and thanks for being my BB source :)

It preserved becasuse I was already running the leak. Best to backup ALWAYS if you care about your data. I offload most media to SD and wipe, start fresh, no restore. Saves me time and headaches

Does it wipe all installed APKs?
