Teaser: Tilt Personal Contextual Assistant for BlackBerry 10

By February 7, 2014APPS, BlackBerry 10, News

We saw at BB Jam Asia 2013 that BlackBerry Sweden was working on opening the source to a very simple paradigm for utilizing the device gyroscope to expose contextual information at glance. The original demo by Gary Klassen gave us an early preview of this software capability; and now developers are using this source to build new and powerful applications.

Tilt by ReFocus Labs combines Tilt UI with Sidekick Engine and enables us to give the user the right information at the right time so they can focus on the world around them. Tilt manages your news, priority notes, weather, places, battery stats and calendar. All this information in one place, providing you with a seamless experience.

Adaptive Tilt Interface

Tilt is based on BlackBerry Sweden’s tilt UI concept. Adapting to your phone’s gyroscopic orientation you will get the most important information only when you need it. On a table surface the display will be blank, as you tilt it up context blocks will show up according to their priority. Focus more on the world around you with this non-obtrusive user interface.

Sidekick Engine

Using the same contextual backend as our award-winning app ARKick. Tilt uses Sidekick Engine to rearrange the context blocks priority, re-arranging them according to the current context. If the weather is harsh or an event is coming up Sidekick Engine makes sure you know with a clear and confident LED notification.

This app will be available in BlackBerry World in under a week and is set to launch February 11th
