7digital Brings Standalone Music Store to BlackBerry World

By July 18, 2014APPS, News

On July 21st BlackBerry will be closing down the Music and Video sections of the BlackBerry App World.

Many users have been wondering how they’ll be able to access their content that they previously purchased. It seems with the chord being severed in lieu of Amazon, 7digital has chosen to continue supporting customers by porting a BlackBerry version of their Android music store into BlackBerry World.

Rovi which powered the movies section will very likely follow a similar path and bring their storefront into the hands of users who may be interested.

Much like in the PlayBook days when those stores were standalone, if you’ve purchased content on PlayBook from BlackBerry World fear not you’ll still be able to access that content.

For now, you can download 7digital and reclaim your music purchases.

Why does it say there are 14 comments but only 5 show?

It’s a shame that BlackBerry have dropped music and movies in BlackBerry World. I understand that Amazon is coming but it just won’t be the same.

Shame its just the Android version, but at least glad they’re trying. Not having a 7digital app for BB10 was one of the things I really missed from BBOS.

      That’s a great point.
