Here’s our quick and dirty unboxing of PRIV by BlackBerry. This is an AT&T model and to be fair the hardware is really nice. This is a general walk through of the device, and while not covered in the video due to editing, yes, there’s a standard USB 2.o charger at the base of the device alongside a 3.5mm headphone jack. With that out of the way, I’ve been using the PRIV on and off for a few weeks and honestly it’s still slowly growing on me. I miss my BlackBerry 10 bad – weeks into my PRIV review. Which may or may not be published on Nov 16th.

Anyway in this BlackBerry PRIV unboxing I go through the box, hat tip AT&T marketing and do a general about face with the device that so many are talking about even from the Android side of the house. Too expensive at this time. I jumped and bought the passport and the classic on launch. It time to wait this out and watch for a priv 2 or a price drop before I grab it. For now I’ll stick to carrying around my Note 4 and my passport.

Not sure if a “Priv 2” will make it any less expensive.

Really tight overview! You do a better job showing features in your unboxing than many have done in a full-on review!

  • Fernando

    Great unboxing!

Nice. I look forward to your review. I am really torn by such a mix of reviews from very good to awful. How can this be? I hope your review can address this question somehow. My suspicion is vested interests. I hope you can also think about BlackBerry ‘s new potential for productivity in this environment. Is it uniquely positioned or not?

I’m happy to see you taking your time to prepare a proper review. One can not give an honest review after only 48 hours of usage. PEACE

  • Killer unboxing and overview man.. Probably the nicest and most well-thought out one I have seen on any site for the PRIV. Really looking forward to the review in a few days (:

Have you read that Ars Technica one? It’s like a horror movie.

Just got my hands on the Priv (I mean it just got delivered) and the Ars(e) review had me second guessing the phone. That’s the power of media (or the weakness of the consumer).

Good “priv-view”. The world of BlackBerry is about to get very interesting, for you fansites and us consumers (Yes I used the forbidden C word)

Awesome review and a great phone indeed.

    • NOT our full review, but thank you Mark! Review is still in development :)
