Producing a weekly podcast for public consumption is hard. As with everything it requires a bit of compromise between capability and practicality. For our first 100 episodes we hosted the podcast directly off the BerryFlow server space, this ate up resources on the host and took up a noticeable chuck of our storage space.

In an effort entirely funded by our monthly subscribers on Patreon we have migrated the entirety of Upstream’s .MP3s to SoundCloud. We’ve enabled SoundCloud Pro for $15/month to gain access to unlimited storage and more advanced analytics. Plugging into SoundCloud also allows us to offer more robust media players, seamless integration with all major social networks and timed comments on our audio so you can share your commentary right along with ours.

While this increases the overall cost of operating the website we think it’s a good solution for a growing podcast. We will continue to invest in making the experience better for our listeners. Their continued support allows us to develop and serve unique content every week. Will you still be using youtube for the video version? The audio only version has not been working on the app for a little while.

    • It will be recommended that you use the website for full functionality. The Flow app is custom built for our website and the podcast implementation is changing with our move to SoundCloud

Excellent news! Will the audio podcast URL be changing?

    • In time yes, we’re trying to see what will be easiest a redirect or asking listeners to resubscribe
